What's Up Her Journey Family! Welcome Back for another interesting read! The last time we spoke, we discussed the "Danger of Quick Fixes" and Mann! Did Holy Spirit draped us! 🤣
If you missed that blog post, what are you waiting for? Go ahead and Check it Out!
👀Now that we've covered our bases, let's get to business.
This week we are diving into a topic called "God, Grace and Paul".
In 2 Corinthians 12, we meet Paul and learn about his desperation and cry to God in removing "the throne in His flesh". Honestly, I didn't realize how much I related to Paul until I read that passage a couple weeks ago. But before we go any further, do me a favor!
🖐🏽Raise your hand if you have ever asked God to:
A. Take you out of the wilderness IMMEDIATELY
B. Take the pain of a situation away
C. Remove some one or some thing from
your life that's toxic.
If you selected any of these options, you too have had this "Paul" experience.
As we look further in this chapter, we see where Paul was truly a mighty man of God as he "received wonderful revelations from God".
So one would question, why would God allow Paul to experience this? And was God also ignoring his constant cry and prayers? Most certainly not!
“even though I have received such wonderful revelations from God. So to keep me from becoming proud, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger from Satan to torment me and keep me from becoming proud. Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away.”
With all of this pain and chaos happening , God gave Paul a response that he didn't expect. He told him that "My grace is sufficient for you and my strength is perfect in your weakness". Now Hold On! I don't know about you but my answer to God would probably be "Huh? I just need you to take the pain away please" 🥲
“Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.”
God saw the bigger picture. He gave Paul an opportunity to trust Him. When Paul said that “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”, many of us including myself looked at it as a declaration/affirmation but truthfully it also served as a promise of what God’s power, grace and will can do for us as Paul testified of what it did for him.
“For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.”
We struggle to wait in the storm, to live through the breaking and to embrace the process because we are yet to fully acknowledge the power of God's grace. Unfortunately, Grace has been associated with weakness and timidity , but we must accept and believe that it is God's strength available to us.
“That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”
We take pride in pushing through struggles ourselves to feel "self made" that we become so unaware of His divine purpose behind our pain. And because of that, our struggles are often viewed as punishments. 😮💨
I could go on and on about this topic but the goal today is just to remind you of the meaning of God's Grace.
Family, We only attain spiritual maturity when we accept God's strength. God opens the door through every situation to allow us to give Him room to work FOR us. He is literally telling us "let me fight for you, rely on me, rest in me, do not worry."
He knows that it is in our nature to do the opposite of trusting Him but He's asking us to try. 😅
Dear Son & Daughter, Let us accept God's Grace.
Until Next Time,
Her🫶
