The Danger of Quick “Fixes"

Hey Her Journey family! I know It's been a while since our last post but I want to ensure that everything that I share with you is authentic, timely and most of all, impactful to your lives. So, I definitely had to take some time to process what my next post would be about.

Ready to read? Let’s go!

Today, I want to dive into the "Danger of Quick Fixes". Why did I immediately hear someone say “OUUU” in the background🤣. Anyways! As human beings, we experience so much in our lives, from grief to happiness, from loss to gain, from fear to courage and even from failure to success. When those low seasons of our lives seem to be too much to bear, it's quite easy for our faith to waver and for our hope in God to fade.

A lot of people won't admit it but I've had moments where I truly asked God, "Why Me"?🙃 I could never understand why I would go through certain situations but scripture did remind me "Lean not unto your own understanding but in all your ways..." Whew Child! You know the rest.

A huge part of our journey as believers is dependent on us dying to our flesh ( to our feelings) 👀 so that we can vividly see God's purpose and will for our lives. I've recently noticed a tactic of the enemy and not just His tactic, but one of the main reasons we fall.

👀Ready for a TRUTH BOMB? We have allowed our walk with God to be led primarily by our emotions. And I Oop-

Yes! It’s the truth. And who can blame us with so many illnesses, deaths, family drama, money problems, relationship problems happening in our lives? Y’all! Life is life-ing!

Lemme ask you this. How many times have you said "God, I don't feel like praying or fasting right now "when life started getting the best of you. Hmm yup! we've all been there. This is in no way a means to judge or criticize you but to bring your attention to something that could be harming you. ❤️

To experience spiritual and personal growth in life is to first develop discipline. If our relationship with God isn't built on a solid foundation, we can find ourselves leaning to the wrong things to gain satisfaction.

A lot of us have become dependent on the wrong things to give us quick answers because we feel as though God isn't answering our prayers fast enough. Our emotions now have a greater voice in our lives than God.

This is why people can be easily drawn to horoscopes, witchcraft, tv shows, dating and dare I say it, prophetic words to fill a void. Now disclaimer, prophecy is amazing, but always wanting a prophetic word but never be willing to change can be dangerous. Ouch!

God cares about our spiritual and personal well-being.

Family, what has taken the place of God in your life? It is time that we get back to a place where our walk with God is not immediately altered because of our feelings. It is time we build discipline in waiting and listening to the voice of God. There are things knocking on the door for us but they are unable to enter our lives because we are yet to put in the work.

What we experience here on this earth is only temporary and what God is preparing us for is eternal. I encourage you to wait on God and to do the work to build your discipline and foundation on Him daily.

Keep Going. It will be worth it.

Until Next Time,

Her
